OUR TIPS FOR DRY SKIN
-
Keep it cool
Use only lukewarm water for cleansing. The heat of the water further attacks the protective barrier of the skin, causing it to dry out further. That's why it's best to cleanse your skin only once a day before going to bed. .
-
Protect yourself where possible
Dry skin reacts to external influences like hardly any other skin type. Try to protect yourself and your skin from the cold and sun as much as possible. Sunbathing should be kept to a minimum and, if possible, prevented with a suitable, high sun protection factor.
-
Dry off well
After showering or bathing, you should always dry or pat your skin well. If too much residual moisture remains on the skin, it dries out further as it evaporates.
Plenty of attention and dedication – how to care for dry skin
In Germany, around one in three adults suffer from dry skin. This is due to the skin's damaged protective barriers, which makes it harder for the skin to retain sufficient moisture for a sufficient period of time. Dry skin reacts to external influences like no other skin type. Affected people should therefore pay close attention to their diet. Avoiding stimulants such as alcohol or nicotine also helps the skin. In addition, you should not wash your skin too often and only go out in the sun wearing a sufficient sun protection factor – this also applies in winter. Skin care products should provide your skin with sufficient moisture over a longer period of time. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, Ectoin or Glycoin.
