Skin types
As individual as us
Do you know your skin type? If not, then you're like many of us. Some people believe that they have a completely different skin type to what they actually have. But we don't want to make it unnecessarily complicated here and introduce you to the four major skin types. And maybe, by the end, you will recognize your own skin type.

Normal or balanced skin is what we describe as having sufficient lipids and moisture; its barrier works properly. This type of skin has barely visible pores. Normal skin is resilient and looks smooth, rosy and soft.

Oily or greasy skin produces too much sebum. It looks shiny and has an oily, large-pored appearance. It is prone to impurities and pimples. This skin type often has poorer blood circulation and can appear thick because the skin flakes do not come off as easily as in normal cases. The advantage is that wrinkles are noticeable later with oily skin.
Combination skin has both oily and dry or normal skin areas. The so-called T-zone, i.e. the forehead, nose and chin, is oily as it contains the majority of the sebaceous glands. Dry skin is often found around the temples, eyes and on the cheeks.

Dry skin is common. Its structure is fine-pored and rough. Due to the lack of lipids, it tends to form wrinkles. It is often dull, flakes and tightens quickly. Moisture cannot bind sufficiently. Dry skin often has a weakened barrier.
